Registration for the 2010 Season is now closed. If you missed signing up this year, please mark your calendar to sign up for next summer in March 2011
Every summer SYBL organizes 3 Shaker Heights-based 'House Leagues" and sponsors a number of travel teams.
The 'House Leagues' are organized by grade:
Minor Leagues - for players completing 3rd and 4th grade
Major League - for players completing 5th and 6th grade
Senior League - for players completing 7th through 10th grade
Each league has between 6 and 12 teams. Teams typically play 15-20 games on fields in Shaker Heights. The season takes place between Memorial Day and the end of July. Sign ups take place in March with teams formed at the end of April.
Travel Teams participate in the Great Lakes Baseball League or the Buckeye Baseball League and compete against teams from other communities . These teams typically play in several tournaments as well, including some outside the Cleveland area. Teams are selected based on try-outs in August or September for the following year and practice occasionally througout the winter. Any Shaker resident is eligible to tryout for these teams. Age cut-offs are based on a player's age as of May 1st of the year involved. For 2010 we anticipate having teams for:
10U - Players born on or after May 1, 1999
11U - Players born on or after May 1, 1998
12U- Players born on or after May 1, 1997
13U - Players born on or after May 1, 1996
14U - Players born on or after May 1, 1995
16U - Players born on or after May 1, 1993

This Summer's Raider Baseball Camp
led by Shaker Heights High School Coach Babinec and some of his players will take place June 21-25, 2010.* The cost of the summer camp is $100 * The morning session will run from 8:00 - 11:00am for students in grades 1-3 (grade as of 8/10) * The afternoon session will run from 12:00 - 3:00pm for students in grades 4-8 (grade as of 8/10)
